Our History
The Beginning
Empire Bakery Equipment was established in 1977 with a mission to bring world-class baking solutions to American bakeries. In 1985, we expanded by acquiring F.W. Huber, a respected manufacturer of horizontal dough mixers founded in the 1940s. A year later, we began importing spiral mixers, ovens, and dough processing equipment directly from Europe, giving U.S. bakeries access to cutting-edge technology.
Growth & Expansion
During the rapid rise of the bagel industry known as the Bagel Boom, Empire became the leading global supplier of bagel-related equipment, further cementing our reputation for innovation, quality and reliability, helping to serve hundreds of bagel shops in the area. A good amount of those bagel shops are still using the same reliable machines to this day!
Upgraded Headquarters
As demand grew, Empire relocated to a larger facility in Hempstead, NY, in 1995, and in 2006, moved to our current headquarters, which spans 15,000 square feet in Hicksville, NY. Today, our operations, warehousing, and state-of-the-art test baking facility enable us to research, demonstrate, and continually improve our product lines.

Over the last five decades, we’ve grown alongside the baking industry, supporting retail and wholesale bakeries, food service operators, pizzerias and more with durable, dependable bakery equipment.
